Campbell Meditation Movie – Marvel’s The Avengers

Campbell Meditation Movie – Marvel’s The Avengers Do you know the true meaning of ‘let’s do it together’? Let’s take a simple example. We have a heart, lungs, a stomach, kidneys, a liver, and other organs, to sustain the body. People think that a heart takes the most important role because it pumps and circulates blood. But in fact, we would have already died if we did not have lungs. This means no organ is more or less important than others. They are equally important and perform their own task. Therefore, our body can be kept healthy. In society, we frequently emphasize cooperation. However, there is a condition for the real cooperation to exist; that is, the self must not be present. People find it difficult to cooperate because each one of them regards themselves as superior to others. Thus, when you work as an individual member of society, you should do what you can do for the goals of the organization, instead of continuously speaking about your own opinions an

Campbell Meditation column: Realizing that the average person is the greatest.

Campbell Meditation column: Realizing that the average person is the greatest. The Ordinary Truth is not something that is within The grandiose and beautiful; It is not within the things people envy. It is in the ordinary and commonplace. Truth is something that is right next to us; People do not know Truth exists in one’s mind And in the same way, They seek Truth ignorant of the face That the extraordinary exists in the ordinary. *From Teacher Woo Myung’s Book <Mind> Page 99 We tend to look up to extraordinary people. When we studied for our future during school in our youth, most of us wanted to have good jobs, become a politician, judge, lawyer, doctor, celebrity, etc., earn good money, and become an extraordinary person with some social status. I, too, was like this when I was young, and I wanted to be praised by others, to stand in a position where others envied me. Everyone has, somewhere in their heart, a yearning to be an extraordinary pers

Campbell Meditation Experience - Minni Vasudeva

Minni Vasudeva (Architect / Gurgaon, Haryana, India) At some stage in my life, I started to feel that something extraordinary needed to happen in my ordinary life. There had always been something that bothered me. I tried few things, like reading spiritual books and practicing other types of meditation. Then, I came across with this meditation. My husband joined first. I heard the concept from him and somehow it made so much sense to me. I felt I had to do it. It seemed time was a constraint to me. But when I started, I was hooked into subtraction. I subtracted my mind every day and it made me feel free day by day. Even making time for meditation was also not an issue for me. After completing level 1, I felt liberated from my own mind. The world seemed better and even people seemed nicer. Now that I’ve finished level 2, I can’t describe this amazing feeling I had for the first time in my life. I want to live with this feeling forever. I feel like big burden has been taken

Campbell Meditation Column – Your Happiness Matters

Campbell Meditation Column – Your Happiness Matters People are born into the world, live their life and depart. On average, human’s life span is seventy to eighty years. People age and become old. That person eventually dies. It is said that there is no exception in death. Life has a definite end one day; it is the principle of the world that a human is born and dies one day, just like parting is “waiting” after meeting. Then, in this one precious life, ask yourself, “do you live a happy life now?” Some people might say that their life is too busy and tough to even answer such a question. However, this is indeed a very important question. There is a seventy-year-old old man in my neighborhood. That man told me with a somber face that he was a very good looking man when he was seventeen years old and he felt like it was only yesterday. He woke up today and had become a wrinkled old man with no energy. For him, his life passed by in the blink of an eye. If you live so busily n

Campbell Meditation – Testimonial As A Health Care Professional

Campbell Meditation – Testimonial As A Health Care Professional Sireesha Battula (Siri) / Doctor / Albany, CA I always felt that I am incredibly lucky to be in a profession I absolutely love. I am a Foot and Ankle specialist who treats patients of all ages. Healthcare professionals in general love helping and healing. But lately, they have been burdened by many professional logistical issues such as billing for services, keeping up with new information, accommodating a constant flow of new rules and regulations, having to be technologically updated and being cautious of patients that could sue them. Needless to say, this creates much stress on a daily basis. I was on that boat before I started this meditation. I see many different kinds of patients on a daily basis and get to hear many of their agonies and problems related and unrelated to their physical ailment. This also can create stress for most in my profession. Recent studies unfortunately revealed that doctors

Campbell Meditation Book Review – The Living Eternal World

Patricia Garcia I enjoy discovering new books regarding meditation. By chance, I stumbled upon a book on Amazon called The Living Eternal World by Woo Myung and read good reviews, so I decided to order the book. Once I received the book and opened it, I noticed the format was different from the books I typically read. Rather than lengthy chapters, this book was written in verses and stanzas of two or three pages at a time. The simplicity appeared it would be an easy read. However, as simple as it was, I also found The Living Eternal World to be very poignant. Every page drew me in because the concept of absolute truth is explained in such a way that I had not heard of before: the absolute truth is the infinite universe. This book is written from the perspective which enables people of all the major religions to easily understand what God, Buddha, Heaven, repentance, and salvation are. It is a true philosophy book sans all the unnecessary verboseness that I often find in most oth

Campbell Meditation Music – Brighter Than The Sun by Colbie Caillat

Campbell Meditation Music – Brighter Than The Sun by  Colbie Caillat It is  Brighter than the Sun  by the female singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat, a.k.a. female Jason Mraz. Colbie Caillat mainly writes environmentally-friendly songs and sings them. It is kind of different from country songs but her songs make listeners feel good. Like the song title, the song is really bright and cheerful. And when watching the music video, you feel like you are there on a remote paradise island full of sunshine, peacefully resting on the beach with a Margarita, rather than in the world you are living in. Like this song, our life can be more shiny and illuminating than the sun. No matter how much money you have or how good a city you live in, if your mind is not happy and bright, that life is absent of happiness. Everyone would already know that the standard of whether you are happy or not is not somewhere outside but rather, within the self. For a life brighter than the sun, your mind

Campbell Meditation Column – The way to become Truth

The way to become truth is that the self must disappear. Even through human history, many saints have said that the self should disappear. We have heard many sayings, such as ‘One should become nature without the self,’ however, it is not easy to find people who actually try hard to throw away the self. Humans have a sense of superiority, love only themselves, and live their life only for themselves. However, the self is the complete opposite of the truth that so many people want to become. Only when the self is eliminated, can they get closer to the life of the truth. There is a folk story in Korea that was passed down from generation to generation. It is called the  Story of Star and Sun . It tells through an interesting story how the stars and the moon in the night sky were created, just like the American folk stories regarding the  Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy . A long, long time ago, two sisters named  Star  and  Moon  lived. They were put in a situation where they had to

Campbell Meditation Movie – Spirited Away

The Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki is very famous. Many people in the world know his work, such as  My Neighbor Totoro. Spirited Away  that I will introduce in this writing is also a well-known piece throughout the world. It was also nominated and earned an award at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film’s synopsis is truly profound. In short, a girl named Chihiro and her family move to a village and while moving, they arrive at a strange countryside village with no people in sight. While looking for food out of hunger, Chihiro’s parents eat some food and instantly become pigs. Chihiro is left alone. The reason why her parents have become pigs is due to a spell by the witch Yubaba. Yababa runs The Bathhouse, and Chihiro gets to work as a servant girl in the big Bathhouse. The witch changes Chihiro’s name to Sen. She did this because she wanted for Sento forget about her original name and life and work for the witch the rest of her life as Sen. Without knowing th

Campbell Meditation Column – How to love me

Human suffering exists in many forms throughout our life. We feel desperation. We often feel that we are not happy. At times, we suddenly feel depressed and feel like we are alone. We feel that we are not being loved. These days, there are many lectures or books about how to love the self. It seems that many methods have come out to show us how to love the self because of chronic illnesses afflicting the modern person, such as depression and stress. So how can you truly love yourself? Many people already know such methods as looking at the self in a mirror and giving words of affirmation, like ‘I am beautiful. I am great. I can do it,’ planting confidence with warm words, and comforting the self. However, my opinion is very different. The problem is that you cannot maintain happiness or that feeling of being loved in this way. And as time goes by, you just become depressed and trapped in yourself again. We need to get to the root and find the very fundamental reason for the pr
